“The Voice” – Judges Have Harsh Words
Posted in Latest News on 05/21/2012 03:29 pm by wpadminChristina Aguilera laid down some pretty harsh comments towards Tony Lucca, one of these season’s “The Voice” contestants. Christina Aguilera stated that Tony Lucca was one dimensional, and that he was possibly using his celebrity contacts for popularity on the show. Lucca has a friendship with Justin Timberlake, a former Mouseketeer, actor and a recording artist.
Though these were pretty hard to take, Lucca said the only thing he could do was to take the high road, and that as far as his side of it, taking the high road is the only choice he has.
He said he feels that if he responds, he’s playing into it. Lucca also said that if he plays into it, it could be misconstrued by her fans. He feels that even with the little he did say in response, it was too much, because it was taken out of context. He went further to say that Aguilera has a very unruly bunch of fans, and that due to their actions, he could only imagine the kind of response he would get if he tried to respond to her accusations.
Lucca went on to say that he has learned a lot since the time he spent on “The Mickey Mouse Club”. He said that in retrospect, perhaps Christina Aguilera had a point and that he could see where she was right. He felt she was right in pointing out his famous supporters, and the effect they were having on the competition.
He went on to say that as a main support in the competition that “The Voice” is built around, Aguilera is a chairman for the board. As a result of her position in the competition, she has a responsibility to voice the concerns she has. He also said that he is, by no means, the last one that will have a large influence from outside the show.
He named people like Chris Mann and Jermaine Paul and said there were people associated with these two that would have some kind of an impact on the show. He feels that it was definitely worthwhile to mention this aspect of the competition, and it was worthwhile for Christina to bring it up.
He went on to say that as a result of her comments, he and his voice coach, Adam Levine, have something special in mind for the coming show. He revealed that he thinks it is something that he hopes her fans and Christina Aguilera, herself, will enjoy and appreciate on Monday’s show. The show he is talking about should air Monday, April 30, 2012. The program is seen on NBC.
Lucca concluded his statements by saying that he feels like there is going to be a lot of fun had with all the happenings of the prior week. He also said he was glad to see Christina Aguilera having such a good time with Blake Shelton on the show, the other night. He said that it gives him confidence on where this whole thing is going.
