Posted in Latest News on 08/13/2011 09:28 pm by wpadminFeaturing a versatile 24mm ultra-wide-angle, The Panasonic ZS10 also shipped with a great 16x optical zoom LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens. Its MOS sensor which can capture full-HD 1920×1080 movie recording. And high speed burst shooting up to 10 frames per second at full resolution. A brand new, large, 3.0-inch, 460,000-dot Smart Touch Intelligent LCD which provides Touch Zoom, Touch Auto Focus (AF), Touch Shutter and Touch Playback. The LUMIX ZS10 also features a built-in GPS (Global Positioning System) feature allowing geo-referenced picture to be pinpointed via on-line maps and easily shared with everyone you like. Though this is not the only camera that offers GPS feature, but nonetheless -I think- ZS10 is the best in its class considering its price and its compact design.
Redeveloped LEICA Lens
The compact, versatile lens system is the hallmark of Panasonic Lumix ZS series and now this lens system is totally redeveloped for the highlighted DMC ZS10 in each optical and mechanical style. This new high-quality LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens system is even more useful with 24mm ultra wide-angle* to effective 16x optical zoom (35mm camera equivalent: 24-384mm). Comprising 12 elements in 10 groups, such as an ED lens and three aspherical lenses with 6 aspherical surfaces, this specially redesigned lens unit suppresses chromatic aberration which tends to be seen in telephoto shooting. It also boasts a brief total length of lens unit despite its greater versatility with longer zoom range, which is enabled by development of a brand new mechanism for the structure of lens barrel. The lens system is also compatible with high shutter speed of min.1/4,000 sec.
* Converted to standard 35mm camera equivalent, at the maximum wide position.
Optical Image stabilization
Image stabilization function becomes an indispensable tool for modern digital camera. It gives stability when taking image and/or movie recording. The man’s hands -in natural way- can not be constant thus without having Image stabilization feature, the result whilst taking picture/movie recording is a bit blurring or worst, shaking. There are 2 forms of Image stabilizer in term of how it works. In short, there are digital and optical type. Digital version relies on software to do the job in minimizing the impact of your hand. Although it’s not good, digital image stabilization worth to put as one of a selling point in cheap camera. The second type of stabilizer is optical which relies on hardware to correct the result. Panasonic has researched on the low-frequency vibration hand-shake component, which is normally generated when pushing the shutter button or when taking image at night with a slow shutter speed. The POWER O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer)* practically doubles the hand-shake correction power of conventional MEGA O.I.S. You get bright photos without blurring even from handheld shooting at slow shutter speeds.
* The POWER O.I.S. is automatically turned on within the iA Mode and may be turned on or off in the P/A/S/M Mode or some Scene Modes.
GPS Feature
The Lumix ZS10‘s GPS displays not only coordinates, but also the area information that covers 203 countries or regions and the landmark information of over 1,000,000 locations in 82 countries or regions! This feature allows georeferenced pictures to be pinpointed via online maps and easy to share with friends and family. Make your friends and neighbors envy.
Smart Auto Focus for Moving Object
This is surely a perfect function I identified in this camera. When I capture an image of running rabbit whilst on vacation out of town, this feature indeed has got the spotlight. When the AF subject is enabled by touch control, it continues to track the subject even when it moves, until you press the shutter. When you are taking images of active children, pets, sports scenes or subjects in a moving object, this feature minimizes the need to push the shutter button halfway down repeatedly to readjust the focus. The Touch AF Tracking makes certain you do not miss those great shooting opportunities. Well~, I guess rabbit is not THE once-in-a-lifetime shooting opportunities, but I guess you’ve got my point.
Go FULL HD – with Venus Engine
For the image processor, the Venus Engine FHD is incorporated that offers cutting-edge signal processing capabilities. By separating chromatic noise from luminance noise and implementing the optimal noise reduction to each, you will make clear and stunning picture even when shooting at high ISO sensitivity levels. The Venus Engine FHD also provides precisely selective noise reduction towards the chromatic noise without affecting the border of colors which is judged from the brightness level of a pixel. Linking smoothly with the MOS sensor, the Venus Engine FHD processes a large amount of signals at high speed, making it possible to record high resolution consecutive shots and full High Definition movie recording.
